Rouhollah Motefaker-Azad, referencing the signing of contracts for the pressure enhancement of the South Pars joint gas field, noted that the signing of these agreements marks a fortunate event.
He emphasized that the plan was both a requirement of the development program and a promise made by the oil minister of the 14th administration, which has now been successfully fulfilled.
He added that, according to officials, the contracts are valued at approximately $17 billion. Their implementation is expected to create direct employment for 17,000 people and indirect employment for 50,000 others, while generating significant revenue for the country.
The Parliament vice president urged the government and the Ministry of Petroleum to maintain the same level of energy and commitment throughout the execution of these contracts as they did during the signing. He also assured that the Parliament, particularly its Energy Committee, will provide any necessary support to ensure the successful completion of the project.
The $17 billion pressure enhancement plan for the South Pars gas field was signed on Saturday in the presence of the president and senior oil industry officials.
