Tavakoli called the overhaul program a “red line” for the NIGC and said there has been no delay in any planned work. He noted that the company began its annual overhaul program in March to make the most of available time, following delays in some work last year.
Given the high volume of projects, work was organized to maximize efficiency, he said. Four refineries are currently undergoing overhauls in line with the company’s final dispatching plan.
Tavakoli said that even during a recent 12-day conflict, when on-site staff was reduced under emergency protocols, overhaul work continued without postponement.
He added that overlapping repair activities and reducing their duration in 2025 prevented disruptions to gas lines. In some cases, gas transmission crews accepted the risk of carrying out repairs without cutting the gas flow.
