Demand for oil and petroleum products has been falling since the outbreak of the pandemic. Oil wells and refineries across the globe are shutting down one after another. Despite the historic OPEC+ agreement for oil production cut, oil price slump has not stopped. However, there is no sign of increased demand for oil and petroleum products in the market.

Refinery Projects Unfazed by Sanctions

Iran's refining industry has done its best to blunt the impact of unjust sanctions that have been slapped on the industry. It has also changed threats to opportunities to develop technical knowhow. Proof of such development may be seen in the construction of refineries, development of refining facilities, manufacturing equipment for the refineries and even development of necessary catalysts, all despite sanctions.
