According to the South Pars Gas Complex, Mehdi Gerami-Shirazi said ensuring reliable gas supply during colder days is strategically vital. He said continuous and stable gas production in line with the commitments of the National Iranian Gas Co. is the refinery’s primary mission, adding that all HSE requirements are implemented rigorously and without interruption.
Gerami-Shirazi said support for domestic manufacturers has been pursued more seriously this year as a key strategic policy. By relying on the capabilities of Iranian companies active in designing and manufacturing refinery equipment—especially under current sensitive conditions—the Phase 12 refinery has taken effective steps toward self-sufficiency, production sustainability and reduced dependence.
He credited technical know-how, creativity and innovative initiatives by the refinery’s workforce and specialists as major contributors to recent achievements. Maximizing the use of domestic capacity, he said, has not only improved operational efficiency but also enhanced the reliability of process units and ensured uninterrupted production.
Fully Prepared for Peak Gas Demand
Gerami-Shirazi said that in the first nine months of the year, the refinery produced more than 9.8 billion cubic meters of sweet gas and delivered it to the national transmission network, playing a significant role in meeting stable gas demand in household and industrial sectors. During the same period, the refinery produced more than 344,600 tons of ethane, 350,300 tons of propane and over 260,000 tons of butane, reflecting stable and reliable performance across process units.
He said the refinery also recorded strong performance in condensate production, with 148.75 million barrels produced in the first nine months of the year. In addition, the production of 8,800 tons of granulated sulfur contributed to completing the production chain and meeting environmental requirements.
Gerami-Shirazi said the Phase 12 refinery has reinforced its position as a key pillar of the country’s energy supply by achieving these records and remains fully prepared to successfully and sustainably manage peak gas consumption during the winter season.
