Speaking Tuesday at a meeting with members of Parliament’s Agriculture, Water and Natural Resources Committee, Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar said technical measures, including activating alternative transfer routes and using the capacities of neighboring provinces, prevented disruptions in the country’s fuel supply chain.
He said some fuel facilities and storage tanks in the provinces of Tehran Province and Alborz Province sustained damage in the recent attacks, but around-the-clock efforts by refinery and distribution sector personnel ensured continued fuel production and distribution nationwide.
Azimifar added that operational teams immediately implemented emergency technical measures to maintain the flow of petroleum products to consumption centers across the country.
Reconstruction of Damaged Facilities
Azimifar said plans to rebuild and reinforce damaged storage tanks and facilities have been placed on an urgent agenda. He added that part of the damaged infrastructure capacity will be restored in the short term, while medium-term plans include constructing new storage tanks and expanding storage infrastructure with a focus on greater safety and wider geographic distribution of facilities.
Referring to damage inflicted on other oil industry facilities, he said the attack on South Pars Gas Field has affected Iran’s gas balance and underscored the need for coordinated energy consumption management and prioritization across sectors.
He stressed that cooperation among executive agencies and effective consumption management would help the country overcome upcoming challenges and maintain stable energy supplies.
