Extensive diesel storage among key actions of administration

SHANA (Tehran) - The executive deputy to Iran’s president announced that large-scale storage of diesel for power plants has been one of the 14th government’s major initiatives in recent months.

Speaking Wednesday during a visit to the South Pars Gas Complex, Mohammad-Jafar Qaem-Panah highlighted the key role of South Pars in supplying the country’s energy needs. He said more than 73% of Iran’s gas comes from South Pars, and timely major maintenance and the efforts of platform personnel have helped maintain gas network stability in recent months.
Qaem-Panah described the large-scale storage of diesel as a major government measure, noting that this year storage has reached about 3.5 billion liters, which has played a decisive role in reducing power outages.
He also outlined government plans to address energy imbalances, saying, “By developing solar power plants and increasing renewable energy production, especially in suitable regions, we aim to prevent energy shortages next year.”
The deputy president said completing the petrochemical production chain remains a government priority. “If stable feedstock is provided to petrochemical units, these industries can operate at full capacity, boosting exports and creating additional value,” he said.
Qaem-Panah expressed appreciation for the efforts of the oil industry workforce and emphasized that, with public cooperation and the commitment of executive sectors, this fall and winter will be managed effectively. He added that the country is on a solid path toward increased production and energy stability.
