According to the National Iranian Gas Company, Saeid Tavakoli, speaking Monday at the annual general meeting of subsidiaries to review the Iranian Gas Transmission Company’s performance, praised the coordinated and responsible efforts of various departments in managing recent crises. He described this cohesion as the most critical factor in successfully navigating exceptional circumstances, such as the 12-day war.
Tavakoli referred to the Iranian Gas Transmission Company as one of the most vital components of the integrated gas production, transmission, and distribution chain. "The reality is that the Gas Transmission Company bears a complex and sensitive responsibility," he said.
"Fortunately, through the valuable efforts of colleagues in the PEDEC and the expansion of operational units and stations, the reliability and stability of the gas transmission network have been enhanced."
The CEO also highlighted the importance of safeguarding national technical assets, noting that even the failure of a single bolt in facilities comes at a public cost. "This perspective must guide our technical and managerial planning," he stressed.
Collaboration key to overcoming crises
Tavakoli underscored the need to learn from past experiences and commended the efforts of the company’s assembly affairs team. He said his presence on the subsidiary’s board provided an opportunity to closely observe their work, noting that the quality of assembly meetings has significantly improved. "While there is still room for progress, the professionalization of assemblies has begun, and their structure is gradually aligning with commercial law requirements," he added.
He identified board training as a fundamental need, advocating for case-based and practical learning over ceremonial sessions. "Targeted, short-term training can be far more effective," he said.
Addressing workplace stress and its impact on employee well-being, Tavakoli acknowledged that pressures, such as those during the 12-day war, can affect physical and mental health. "However, interdepartmental collaboration can be a decisive factor in successfully navigating crises," he said.
Stressing national responsibility, he stated, "At the National Iranian Gas Company, we believe everyone must work diligently to preserve facilities, protect assets, and enhance productivity. Responsibility is a fleeting yet highly impactful opportunity—one we must value."
