Gas transmission stability boosted on Iran’s sixth national pipeline

SHANA (Tehran) – The head of Gas Transmission Operations District 10 said the pigging operation on a 195-kilometer stretch of the Sixth National Gas Pipeline in Bushehr Province was completed under extreme heat exceeding 50 degrees Celsius to enhance the safety and reliability of gas flow, particularly during peak consumption periods.

According to the Iranian Gas Transmission Company, Ramin Nik-Kholq said the pigging was conducted along 195 kilometers of the pipeline in Bushehr with the goal of inspecting the internal condition of the pipe, increasing safety, preventing corrosion, and improving operational efficiency.

He added that the operation was a key part of the company’s pipeline maintenance and smart monitoring program. It was carried out in five stages, around the clock, over the course of a week, with strict adherence to safety protocols and continuous technical oversight.

Nik-Kholq highlighted the extreme weather conditions during the project, noting that while temperatures soared past 50 degrees Celsius—prompting the closure of many operations and facilities—employees of the district demonstrated exceptional commitment and responsibility, ensuring all phases of the work were completed on schedule.

He emphasized that the successful completion of this project plays a critical role in the safe and steady supply of gas across the country, especially during high-demand periods. He praised the team’s efforts under the scorching heat of Bushehr as a testament to their dedication and resilience, underscoring their unwavering commitment to public service and energy stability, even under the harshest conditions.
