Daily sweet gas production reaches 870 mcm

SHANA (Tehran) – The caretaker of production coordination and supervision at the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC) announced that the injection of sweet gas into transmission pipelines has now reached 870 million cubic meters (mcm) per day.

Speaking on Monday at the specialized session on "Technological Achievements and Approaches of the National Iranian Gas Company" during the Third Petrotech Conference, Mohammadreza Julaei highlighted the presence of three types of turbo compressors in the South Pars complex.

He noted that if proactive planning for the maintenance and repair of these compressors had not been undertaken a decade ago, at least one-third of South Pars' current production capacity would have been lost.

Julaei emphasized that NIGC has never relied on foreign companies such as Siemens for turbo compressor maintenance. Instead, significant achievements have been made in the past four months with the support of domestic knowledge-based companies.

Referring to his recent visit to the OTC Compressor Manufacturing Company in the Shamsabad Industrial Zone, Julaei acknowledged the company’s accomplishments, supported by NIGC.

He stressed the need to extend similar support to other domestic new technology-based firms (NTBFs) to ensure greater diversity in the sector. This, he said, would enable the timely execution of maintenance and repair programs for rotating equipment, providing the industry with greater flexibility.
