The jacket and its accessories weigh 1,800 tons, with the piles estimated at around 1,256 tons, bringing the total weight to over 3,000 tons.
Once installed at sea, the jacket will enable offshore drilling at the border position of the Belal field, adjacent to Qatar. The construction of the jacket was entirely carried out by Iranian specialists.
The project also involved 1.03 million incident-free man-hours of work, 690 meters of pile driving in the Persian Gulf, and 15,000 kilometers of welding.
The Belal Gas Field is located approximately 40 kilometers east of the South Pars Gas Field and near the Iran-Qatar border.
The field was discovered in 2003 by the Exploration Directorate. The development contract for the Belal Gas Field project was signed on September 14, 2019, by the CEOs of Pars Oil and Gas Company and Petropars.
