In a message commemorating the founding anniversary of POGC, Touraj Dehqani highlighted the company’s key role in enhancing the security of the nation’s energy supply.
With the establishment of Pars Oil and Gas Company, the development of refinery and offshore sectors of South Pars and the management of a vast array of gas production platforms were entrusted to this company, the official wrote in his message.
“Since then, relying on its specialized human resources, Pars Oil and Gas has continuously advanced the energy sector in the country. During its years of operation, the company has built 13 refineries and 39 production and support platforms, playing a vital role in supplying the country’s gas needs,” he added.
Dehqani went on to say that this role continues to this day, as evidenced by the recent record production of 712 million cubic meters of gas per day, contributing over 70% of the nation's gas supply and 40% of gasoline production.
“This is not the end of the road; the company is also engaged in projects such as creating gas condensate storage facilities, constructing export ports in South Pars Phase 1 and Phase 2, and building the Birjand combined cycle power plant, all aimed at strengthening the country’s energy infrastructure,” the message read.
“With the completion of the first phase of development of South Pars, except for Phase 11, and the realization of major development projects, POGC continues, under the leadership of the National Iranian Oil Company, to implement strategies to prevent gas pressure decline in the South Pars reservoir.”
In this regard, the company is pursuing plans aimed at boosting pressure and maintaining production, employing its capabilities to ensure the stability of the country’s gas supply in the coming years with initiatives such as drilling in-field wells and developing the Belal, Farzad, Kish, and North Pars gas fields,” the official stated in his message.
