Speaking on the sidelines of a meeting with members of Parliament’s Energy Committee, Paknejad said the meeting reviewed the Oil Ministry’s performance during the first four months of the year and discussed challenges facing the oil and gas sectors.

Damage to some gas processing facilities in Asaluyeh during the third imposed war has been largely offset by using capacity at other refineries, he said.

According to the National Iranian Gas Co., about 95 million cubic meters per day of lost production is expected to return to the production cycle by the end of September, Paknejad said.

Asaluyeh refinery repairs accelerated

Paknejad said reconstruction of four damaged refineries is proceeding simultaneously and at an accelerated pace.

Debris removal, the first stage of the work, has been completed, while an implementation framework has been established and contractors have begun operations, he said. Reconstruction is expected to be completed ahead of schedule, allowing the full lost capacity to return to the gas production network.

However, some of the capacity will remain unavailable during the cold season, Paknejad said, stressing the need to manage both gas supply and consumption to prevent disruptions to the country’s gas supply.

He called public cooperation in optimizing gas consumption critical, saying consumers’ efforts to manage use would provide significant help in navigating the challenges ahead.
