Araqi, who is in the northern province of Gilan to visit infrastructural developments for gas distribution the province, said given the inauguration of new South Pars phases and provision of the required infrastructure for refining and distribution of gas to all parts of the country, there will be no trouble with supply of gas to all sectors during the cold snap.
Last year, the government committed itself to delivering 85-90 million cubic meters of gas per day to power plants in winter, up by 6 billion cubic meters compared to the preceding year, according to Araqi.
The steady supply of natural gas as feedstock to power plants will translate into sustainable electricity production, a particularly important feat in the cold season due to rising demand for electricity.
