Household gas use tops 3.3 bcm in one week

SHANA (Tehran) – Household, commercial and small industrial gas consumption exceeded 3.3 billion cubic meters in the first week of Azar as colder weather pushed heating systems into operation.

Data show that with declining temperatures and the start of heating use, household and commercial consumption rose above 3.3 billion cubic meters during the week. The upward trend continued from the final days of Aban, signaling a gradual increase in winter gas demand.

Household and commercial users consumed 465.42 million cubic meters of gas on Saturday, the first day of Azar. Consumption rose to 470.05 million cubic meters on Sunday and 470.50 million cubic meters on Monday. On Tuesday, use climbed to 487.68 million cubic meters.

Consumption peaked on Wednesday at 498.88 million cubic meters before easing slightly to 494.21 million cubic meters on Thursday. On Friday, household and commercial use totaled 482.83 million cubic meters.

In all, about 3.37 billion cubic meters of gas were consumed across the household, commercial and small industrial sectors during the first seven days of Azar, with average daily consumption topping 481 million cubic meters. These figures indicate steadily rising demand at the onset of the cold season.
