Statistics from the National Iranian Gas Company show that as temperatures dropped in the second week of Azar and heating systems were used more widely, demand in these sectors increased significantly.
On Saturday, Azar 8 (Nov. 29), consumption in the household, commercial and small industrial sectors reached 514.50 million cubic meters. The figure rose sharply the next day, Azar 9, hitting 524.67 million cubic meters.
On Sunday, Azar 10, consumption dipped slightly to 508.75 million cubic meters, but the upward trend resumed on Monday, Azar 11, when use climbed to 526.24 million cubic meters.
Gas consumption peaked on Tuesday, Azar 12, at 530.64 million cubic meters. It edged down on Wednesday, Azar 13, to 521.93 million cubic meters. On Thursday, Azar 14, consumption amounted to 524.22 million cubic meters.
Total consumption over the seven-day period surpassed 3.65 billion cubic meters, reflecting the steady rise in demand as the country enters the colder months.
