Mohsen Paknejad, referring to the Oil Ministry’s measures to reinforce gas transmission infrastructure, said that through the efforts of employees in the oil industry—especially the National Iranian Gas Company—and by relying on the capabilities of contractors and the use of domestically manufactured equipment and goods, the construction and commissioning of more than 1,000 kilometers of gas transmission pipelines are planned to be completed by the end of the year.
He stressed that developing transmission infrastructure and enhancing the stability of the gas network are among the top priorities of the Oil Ministry under the 14th administration and are being pursued seriously within the ministry’s executive programs.
The oil minister also pointed to the acceleration of development and completion of new gas transmission pipelines and compressor stations, noting that pipelines play a significant role in bolstering national energy security and that these measures will further strengthen domestic energy supply infrastructure.
Paknejad said the Oil Ministry’s actions to expand and upgrade gas transmission infrastructure include the commissioning of more than 300 kilometers of gas transmission pipelines in the country’s western and southwestern corridor; the completion and operation of more than 170 kilometers of pipelines in northern provinces; increasing gas transmission capacity to Ardabil province; enhancing the stability of gas transmission lines in the northwest through the construction of more than 50 kilometers of the Chalvand–Ardabil pipeline; and the completion and commissioning of 154 kilometers of gas transmission pipelines in the southern part of Sistan and Balouchestan province.
