Oil Ministry denies use of liquid fuel at Rey, Parand power plants; natural gas remains primary fuel
SHANA (Tehran) – The Oil Ministry’s director general for HSE denied reports claiming that the Rey and Parand power plants had used liquid fuel, saying Rey has run solely on natural gas since late October and that 80 percent of Parand’s fuel during the same period was also supplied as natural gas.

SHANA (Tehran) – The supply and distribution manager of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said 85% of the diesel fuel delivered to power plants in Tehran province now meets the Euro 4 standard, an 8% increase from the same period last year.

Growth in Euro-4, Euro-5 diesel production under 14th Administration
SHANA (Tehran) – The director of coordination and operations oversight at the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC) announced an increase in Euro-4 and Euro-5 diesel production under the 14th Administration. He said 420 million liters of low-sulfur fuel oil were produced for the first time by the Shazand refinery and distributed among major power plants.

SHANA (Tehran) - Tehran’s oil refinery is among the oldest and leading oil refining facilities in Iran. It is instrumental in producing vital fuels like gasoline, gasoil and jet fuel. With a refining capacity of 250,000 b/d of crude oil and enjoying a strategic location near Tehran, the facility has a major share in national energy supply. Upgrading the quality of petroleum products has been a priority of the Ministry of Petroleum under the 14th administration. That would require upgrading the refinery.
