Taking advantage of this huge wealth or preserving it for future generations has always been a challenge for policy makers. The arrival of renewable energies and the efforts of countries to ramp up energy security and non-dependence have caused oil-rich countries to seek to optimize production from hydrocarbon reservoirs in order to turn it into a capital for future generations.
