Efficient energy use key to stability in gas, power networks

SHANA (Tehran) – President Masoud Pezeshkian said that if everyone across the country optimizes their energy use and considers others’ needs, Iran will not face water, electricity, or gas outages and will experience fewer tensions.

According to the presidential website, Pezeshkian made the remarks Monday, during the inauguration ceremony for new water and electricity projects. He noted that the country’s rainfall over the past eight years has been below the 50-year average, underscoring the need for public cooperation to reform consumption patterns.

“If each person, in any position, uses energy efficiently and we all act responsibly toward one another, there will be no interruptions in water, power, or gas supply,” he said. “Tensions will be minimized, and production units and factories will benefit from stable electricity.”

Emphasizing the need to shift household energy consumption from gas to electricity, Pezeshkian said the move would significantly contribute to energy stability, environmental protection, and efficient consumption management.

He also called for measures to promote solar panel installation for residential buildings and to encourage banks to offer loans to households for this purpose. “All responsible agencies in the energy sector must eliminate bureaucratic hurdles and widely share successful experiences,” Pezeshkian said, adding that doing so would help create a model for energy efficiency and responsible consumption.
