During a visit to the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company on Wednesday, Mohsen Paknejad addressed refining and distribution managers, emphasizing the significance of the recent accomplishments.
He noted that over the past two and a half months, round-the-clock efforts by employees have led to increased crude oil and natural gas production by the National Iranian Oil Company.
Acknowledging the dedication of National Iranian Gas Company employees, Paknejad added, "Despite delays in scheduled maintenance, all gas refineries have remained operational. The gas transmission pipelines and infrastructure have also been effectively managed."
He highlighted similar efforts in oil refineries, explaining, "Despite deferred maintenance, operations were well-managed, avoiding potential disruptions in the production of oil, gas, and gasoline."
Paknejad also praised pipeline operators for efficiently transporting crude oil and derivatives from production zones to refineries.
"At the final stage of this chain stands the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company," he said.
Addressing managers at the meeting, the minister noted, "Many eyes are on your work these days. At the highest levels of the government, your efforts are recognized. On behalf of the President, who has personally acknowledged your achievements, I extend his gratitude to you."
The minister emphasized that senior officials appreciate the workforce's efforts when briefed on their performance.
He addressed concerns circulating on social media, saying, "Many unfounded claims are being made, often by individuals who are neither friends nor representatives of the people. The public’s only concern is that you deliver your best, and they are indeed appreciative of your efforts."
Reaffirming his support, Paknejad said, "As someone who oversees the Ministry of Oil and evaluates your work, I can confidently say your performance surpasses previous standards. I am deeply grateful for your hard work, and so are the people, who hold your contributions in high regard."
The minister noted challenges faced by the industry due to cold weather and delays in certain critical actions.
He explained, "Over the past three months, considerable effort has gone into ensuring heavy fuel oil is used in power plants as part of the energy mix. Though delayed, this measure is now being implemented. Had it started earlier, fuel supply management would have been easier."
Paknejad lauded the resilience of industry staff, stating, "You have proven time and again to be the backbone of this sector, ready to go above and beyond in challenging times. Over my 30 years in the oil industry, I have witnessed your dedication and take immense pride in working alongside you."
Referring to remarks made by the director of oil product distribution, he highlighted the operational nature of the NIOPDC, saying, "This company holds a distinguished position in the value chain of the oil industry. Its employees should take pride in their work, as the public holds them in high esteem."
Paknejad also expressed appreciation for the efforts of Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar, CEO of the NIORDC, and his deputy, Keramat Veis-Karami.
"Mr. Azimifar, the youngest senior oil executive, brings invaluable experience from working with two former oil ministers. Early in his tenure, he raised concerns about fuel management, demonstrating foresight and precision, complemented by Mr. Veis-Karami’s thorough follow-up."
The minister concluded by thanking all employees of the NIOPDC for their dedication, urging them to continue striving for excellence in service to the nation.
