Nearly 80m liters of liquid fuel delivered to power stations on Monday

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company announced a record distribution of 172 million liters of diesel on Monday, adding that about 80 million liters of liquid fuel were supplied to power stations across the country.

Keramat Veis-Karami stated that on Monday, a total of 79.3 million liters of liquid fuel was delivered to power plants. This included 58.8 million liters of diesel and 20.5 million liters of mazut.

He highlighted a 30% increase in liquid fuel supply to power plants in the ninth month of the Iranian calendar compared to corresponding figure of preceding year.

During November 21-December 16, an average of 46.6 million liters of diesel was delivered daily, marking a 33% increase compared to the same period last year, the official stated adding that for mazut, the daily average was 24.7 million liters, reflecting a 25% increase year-on-year.

Veis-Karami emphasized that during November 21-December 16, a total of 1.85 billion liters of liquid fuel was supplied to power plants, including 1.211 billion liters of diesel.

He also noted Monday’s unprecedented record of 172 million liters of diesel distributed nationwide, significantly above the monthly average of 117 million liters per day so far since November 21.
