According to the SPGC, Mehdi Shafiei-Motahar stated that the complex has taken significant steps toward boosting unit efficiency, increasing accessibility, and raising production to meet long-term developmental goals and improve industrial performance through modern, up-to-date projects.

"In recent years, our focus has been on improving sulfur recovery unit efficiency and reducing flaring to increase production and lower air pollution," he said.

Shafiei-Motahar added that enhancing the reliability of key sulfur production equipment to boost output and reduce environmental impact is a high-priority project for the complex this year. "These projects directly support domestic gas needs and reduce dependence on imported gas and byproducts," he noted.

Regarding the power sector, he explained that SPGC is working to increase the resilience of production equipment. "We are focusing on improving the reliability of high-risk electrical equipment, such as batteries and power plant devices. New power dispatching projects and permanent connections to the national grid are underway to ensure stable energy supply for all refinery units," he said.

Accelerating equipment and infrastructure upgrades 

Shafiei-Motahar emphasized that upgrading measurement systems and gas quality analyzers for customer deliveries is another priority. "To better manage complex refining processes, we are updating control systems for critical compressors, distributed control systems (DCS), emergency shutdown systems, and fire and gas detection systems to ensure higher precision, reliability, and operational stability," he said.

He also highlighted ongoing infrastructure projects, including the development of new residential camps, modern warehouses, and completing infrastructure upgrades in Jam Industrial Town, such as elevators and power distribution improvements. "These efforts aim to enhance employees' quality of life and provide better conditions for refinery operations," he added.
