The visit by Paknejad, alongside the president, will focus on strengthening ties between the two nations, with key discussions centered on oil and gas. The talks will also explore plans to develop joint cooperation in oil and gas field development and the implementation of shared investment projects between Iran and Russia.
Ahead of the trip, the oil minister stated, “Iran-Russia relations in the energy sector, given the vast potential of both countries, can have a significant impact on global energy markets. Our goal is to leverage these opportunities to achieve mutual objectives.”
Abbas Araqchi, Iran’s Foreign Minister, highlighted the president’s agenda during a Tuesday evening news program, noting that important negotiations will take place in several areas. One key topic will be the export of Russian gas to Iran and its transit through Iran, which could position the country as a regional energy and gas hub.
