According to official statistics, the production and delivery of fuel to industrial and residential sectors have continued without interruption.
Moreover, liquid fuel deliveries to power plants have seen an upward trend this fall.
In the ninth month of the Iranian calendar which started November 21, four billion liters more liquid fuel was delivered to power plants compared to the same period last year.
Data from the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company indicates that 75.1 million liters of liquid fuel were delivered to power plants on December 14, of this total, 51.9 million liters were diesel, with the remainder consisting of mazut.
Average daily delivery at 70m liters
Since November 21 through December 14, the average daily delivery of liquid fuel to power plants reached 70.6 million liters. This marks an increase of 14 million liters (24.7%) compared to the same period last year, when the average was 56.6 million liters.
Nine-million-liter increase in diesel deliveries
In the ninth month of the Iranian calendar, an average of 45.9 million liters of diesel was delivered daily to the country’s power plants. This figure represents an increase of 9 million liters (24.3%) compared to the same period last year, when the daily average was 36.9 million liters.
Daily liquid fuel deliveries up by 15m liters
From the start of the current Iranian year (March 20) through December 14, the average daily delivery of liquid fuel to power plants reached 51 million liters. This is 14.9 million liters (41.4%) higher than the average for the same period in 2023, which stood at 36.1 million liters.
These record figures are particularly notable given that on August 21, 2024—a critical period for fuel storage—only 9 million liters of diesel fuel were delivered to power plants.
Record daily production of 127m liters
The increased delivery of liquid fuel this fall has been supported by intensified production efforts, with refineries operating at maximum capacity.
On December 14, daily diesel fuel production reached a record 126.7 million liters. This figure is 13 million liters higher than the average production for March 20-December 24 period and 15 million liters higher than the average daily production last year (111.5 million liters).
