According to the National Iranian Gas Company (NIGC), Hadi Hashemizadeh Farhang said that the complex was undergoing developments in order to optimize operation of its refineries.
SPGC processes the natural gas recovered from various phases of South Pars gas field in Persian Gulf waters.
He said not allowing the burning of gas in flare stacks of Refinery No. 8 of the complex had been environmentally effective besides generating revenues for the plant.
The official said that a gas reception system was installed at the 121 (steam production) unit of the facility which prevented flaring of 20,000 cubic meters of gas during the preceding calendar year in the refinery.
