According to the presidential information website, a nationwide meeting of provincial governor-generals was held Wednesday under the chairmanship of Pezeshkian and attended by several economic ministers. The meeting focused on reviewing the latest conditions in the provinces, managing issues stemming from the war, ensuring the supply of essential public needs and coordinating the continuation of public services.
Addressing the meeting, Pezeshkian referred to energy-sector limitations caused by the war involving the United States and the Israeli regime against Iran and stressed the importance of smart resource management.
“If we do not have precise planning for managing water, electricity, gas and gasoline consumption, we will face problems in the future,” he said.
The president also underscored the need to balance resources and consumption, calling on provincial governors and local officials to develop energy management plans that would both meet public demand and prevent disruptions to industrial production and economic activity.
“The art of management is to establish balance and proportionality between available resources and the country’s needs,” he said.
Pezeshkian said increasing the country’s resilience requires public participation and cooperation, urging citizens to support conservation efforts and responsible consumption management.
“We must encourage people to cooperate in saving resources and managing consumption so the country can overcome current conditions with dignity and strength,” he said. “Wastefulness, excessive expectations and disregard for limitations will not lead to major achievements.”
He added that government institutions should lead by example by reducing unnecessary consumption in offices and public buildings, turning off excess lighting and equipment, and reorganizing inefficient or unused facilities.
“People will cooperate when they see officials taking the lead in conservation efforts,” he said, adding that such measures are aimed at protecting production, maintaining economic stability and strengthening the country.
The president also called on managers and employees to promote a culture of responsible consumption in workplaces, neighborhoods and families.
“If the country’s resources are managed properly, we can overcome current conditions with strength and dignity and prevent enemies from achieving their goals,” he said.
During the meeting, the ministers of oil, interior, industry and trade, economy and agriculture addressed governors’ concerns and discussed accelerating decision-making processes, meeting provincial needs, removing executive obstacles and strengthening coordination between the central government and provincial administrations.
