Speaking at a coordination council meeting of Parliament, Qalibaf said multiple factors must be considered when amending the provisions of the Seventh Development Plan. “The absence of funding alone is not a reason to amend the plan, because implementing some provisions does not necessarily require a budget,” he said. “We should not fall into a domino effect of eliminating provisions just because they can be executed without funding.”
He stressed the need to leverage digitalization and transparency when evaluating the government’s performance in implementing the plan. “Important work must be done in the economic sector, and one of the most critical is correcting the energy imbalance. Without this, productivity will not improve. This reform should allow the public to benefit in a clear and tangible way,” Qalibaf said.
The parliament speaker also noted that the government aims to streamline operations, and reforming certain processes is a key path toward achieving that goal.
