NIORDC focuses on expanding modern transportation infrastructure

SHANA (Tehran) – A tripartite memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed to develop electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure and establish shared battery swap stations at fuel stations across Iran. The agreement, aimed at expanding modern transportation infrastructure and promoting electric and shared mobility, was signed by the National Iranian Oil Refining and Distribution Company (NIORDC), Mapna Group, and the Oil Industry Research and Technology Fund.

The MoU was signed Friday on the sidelines of the second day of the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025).

The initiative seeks to deploy fixed charging stations at fuel stations and set up shared battery swap hubs in accessible locations for citizens. 

The agreement emphasizes reducing pollution in major cities, advancing clean energy infrastructure, and boosting EV adoption to enhance public health and environmental protection. Signatories included: 

- Mohammad-Sadeq Azimifar, CEO of NIORDC 

- Mohammad Olia, CEO and board member of Mapna Group 

- Hamid Heidari Esmaeil-Tarkhani, CEO of the Oil Industry Research and Technology Fund 

This year’s exhibition theme, “Investment in the Oil Industry Ensures Economic Growth and Development,” reflects the sector’s strategic priorities. The event highlights investment opportunities, emerging technologies, domestic industry capabilities, and partnerships with foreign investors. 

The exhibition features 2,200 domestic and international companies, with expanded space adding five new halls. Total exhibition area exceeds 40,000 square meters. 

The 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025) runs for four days at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds. Public visiting hours are 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
