Ehsan Chitsaz, speaking on Friday (May 9) during the second day of the 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025) said: “We are making every effort to ensure smart operators begin work at the Ministry of Petroleum within the next month, using the obtained licenses. We hope this step will help institutionalize a culture of innovation in the ministry.”
Highlighting the importance of smart development in the oil industry, he noted that strengthening the innovation ecosystem and defining related standards are essential in this sector. “The Ministry of Petroleum should prioritize this in its strategic planning,” he added. “Naturally, this initiative should start with high-yield projects, focusing smart solutions on such endeavors.”
Chitsaz pointed out that the average increase in efficiency and reduction in electricity consumption in the country’s refineries reaches a notable 24%. “If we can use AI capabilities to reduce this figure by even 5%, we will not only address part of the country’s energy challenges but also take a major step toward economic growth and sustainable development.”
The 29th International Oil, Gas, Refining & Petrochemical Exhibition (Iran Oil Show 2025) runs for four days at the Tehran Permanent International Fairgrounds, starting May 8. Visitors can attend the event daily from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
