Ebrahim Piramoun, speaking Sunday at a meeting to forecast the productivity of the company’s oil wells, praised Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company’s efforts to boost oil output.
He noted that NISOC, which produces 75% of the country’s oil, is working alongside export stakeholders to fulfill its responsibilities in increasing production and achieving the government’s plans.
Piramoun highlighted that partial implementation of the flare gas gathering project at the Rag Sefid field has already collected over 40 million cubic feet of flare gas. He emphasized that upon full completion of the project by the end of this year, gas gathering at Rag Sefid will exceed 100 million cubic feet.
The NISOC CEO also pointed to the implementation of flare gas gathering projects to address gas imbalances, noting that the majority of these efforts are concentrated in the operational area of Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company.
He projected that within the next two years, maximizing flare gas collection across southern oil-rich regions will significantly impact gas imbalance issues.
Reaching production peak
Mohsen Dehbanpour, CEO of Aghajari Oil and Gas Production Company, announced at the meeting that the company has achieved 100% of its production targets for the second half of the current Iranian year (to end March 19).
He credited this success to round-the-clock efforts and the expertise of technical, operational, and support teams. Dehbanpour added that through innovative approaches and leveraging local expertise, the company has implemented in-well corrective measures, optimized the use of mobile processing units (MOS and MOT), and made strategic adjustments at operational facilities in Karanj, Rag Sefid 1, and Ramshir.
Dehbanpour emphasized the company’s balanced approach to production, stating that in addition to fully meeting oil production targets, Aghajari achieved 103.5% of its naphtha production target and 102% of its gas liquids production target compared to approved plans. He attributed these accomplishments to precise planning and strategic execution.
The CEO also highlighted key initiatives aimed at boosting production and reducing costs, including the safe completion of five wellbores using domestic technical expertise without the need for drilling rigs, saving 8.9 trillion rials.
Other measures included the successful completion of gas lift projects at the Parsian and Paranj fields, as well as major overhauls and upgrades of critical equipment such as electric desalters and desalination furnaces at the Pazanan facilities. These efforts, he said, are part of the company’s ongoing commitment to improving performance, safety, and production sustainability.
