Continuous monitoring brings stability to petchem market: NPC

SHANA (Tehran) – The deputy oil minister emphasized that continuous monitoring and accurate reporting on the petrochemical market’s conditions help stabilize the market.

Hassan Abbaszadeh stated that petrochemical complexes should meet the needs of production units based on the requirements of downstream industries.

Abbaszadeh, speaking on Tuesday, during the first meeting of the Petrochemical Products Supply and Demand Coordination Task Force, stressed the importance of expanding joint efforts to regulate the petrochemical market.

Abbaszadeh noted that collaboration with the Ministry of Industry, Mine, and Trade across various sectors of the petrochemical industry should be strengthened.

He highlighted that removing production barriers and facilitating the operations of complementary industries are two key strategies to boost production growth.

The CEO of the National Petrochemical Company added that through cooperation with the Industry Ministry, regulatory bodies, and the Iran Mercantile Exchange, continuous market monitoring can clarify the actual demand for feedstock in complementary industries.

To this end, the Petrochemical Employers Association and specialized organizations active in downstream industries can also play a significant role.

Abbaszadeh further explained that providing regular and accurate reports on the petrochemical market’s conditions will help maintain market stability, enabling petrochemical complexes to meet the needs of production units based on downstream industry demands.

The first meeting of the Petrochemical Products Supply and Demand Coordination Task Force was attended by Mohammad-Sadeq Mofateh, the deputy for trade affairs at the Ministry of Industry, and Ebrahim Sheikh, the deputy for public industries at the Ministry of Industry.
