Iran no longer needs to import five polymer grades

SHANA (Tehran) - Arvand Petrochemical, the largest producer of PVC and chlorine chains in West Asia, has achieved a historic production record for EPVC this Iranian year, eliminating the need for the country to import five specialized grades.

The EPVC unit (producing polyvinyl chloride through the emulsion method) of the company, which is the only production facility of its kind in the country, has set a historic production record this year.
Launched in 2011 without a licensor, the unit has significantly overcome production challenges in recent years, achieving remarkable growth.
Its production capacity has now surpassed 30,000 tons.

Production is expected to exceed 31,000 tons by the end of the current Iranian calendar year (March 20, 2025).
This achievement marks an unprecedented milestone in the company’s production history, representing a major leap in meeting domestic demand and expanding exports.

The EPVC unit at Arvand Petrochemical is capable of producing various grades used in construction, medical, synthetic leather, and other industries. The production of five diverse grades at this facility is considered a unique and transformative development for related industries.

Last year, the unit’s production surged by 25%, reaching 29,000 tons, a significant step in its development. This growth has continued this year, surpassing 30,000 tons, demonstrating the company’s capabilities in production management and efficiency.
