Plan offered to address energy imbalances in gas sector

SHANA (Tehran) – The High Council for Strategic Development, chaired by the First Vice President Mohammadreza Aref, convened to discuss housing development and energy imbalance mitigation programs in the gas sector as part of the Seventh Development Plan (2024-28).

Aref, speaking at the meeting on Monday, highlighted the need for coordination between the Plan and Budget Organization and the Ministry of Roads and Urban Development to achieve housing construction goals outlined in the plan.

He emphasized the importance of accelerating programs for rural housing and addressing the needs of vulnerable and disadvantaged groups, as directed by the President during the High Housing Council meeting.

Aref stressed the urgency of completing unfinished housing units under the Mehr Housing Project and the National Housing Movement.

He noted that decades of experience in mass housing construction have demonstrated the private sector's success in this area.

The vice president added that the government, in collaboration with housing developers and through financial resource allocation, will transfer unfinished or unconstructed residential units from the Mehr Housing Project and the National Housing Movement to the public.

The meeting also addressed programs to improve energy imbalances in the gas sector, along with strategies to enhance energy efficiency and reduce consumption.
