SP Phase 11 gas output triples to 357 bcf

SHANA (Tehran) – Cumulative gas production from Phase 11 of the South Pars development has climbed to 357 billion cubic feet, up from 120 billion cubic feet at the start of the 14th administration — a threefold increase.

The Pars Oil and Gas Company said the 22nd joint management committee meeting on Phase 11 was held Tuesday, where members reviewed the latest production status and development progress at sites SPD11B and SPD11A, as well as the outlook for completing the final development plan of the South Pars field.

According to the report presented at the meeting, about 76,000 man-hours of work have been carried out in Phase 11 so far, bringing cumulative output to 357 billion cubic feet, reflecting a threefold rise during the current administration.

Second wellhead jacket completed

Hamidreza Seghafi, CEO of Petropars, announced the final stages of construction of the second wellhead jacket for Phase 11 have been completed. He said preparations are underway to begin loading the offshore structure in the coming days.

Mohammadreza Chalipa, head of construction engineering at Pars Oil and Gas Company, emphasized the need to identify critical paths and remove bottlenecks in the project’s implementation. He said greater momentum is required in securing drilling rigs, building the SPD11A offshore platform, and ordering key drilling equipment and materials.

Phase 11 is the last of 24 development phases of the South Pars gas field. Its development has been awarded to Petropars under the framework of the new Iranian Petroleum Contract (IPC).
