“We are not seeking to assign blame but are fully committed to resolving these issues and alleviating the difficulties faced by the public,” he said.
The president made the remarks during a meeting on energy imbalance solutions held Tuesday evening, as the session reviewed the latest status of gas and electricity supplies for households, industries, and power plants.
The meeting was attended by ministers of oil, interior, energy, and industry, mine, and trade.
Officials presented reports on recent efforts to secure gas and electricity for residential, industrial, and power sectors, implement smart consumption management, address excessive consumption by public entities, and promote savings through the “2 Degrees Less” campaign as proposals for stabilizing the energy distribution network were also discussed.
Pezeshkian stressed the importance of explaining the root causes of energy imbalances, timely and accurate public communication, and engaging citizens through media to adopt consumption patterns.
He called on oil and energy ministers to lead these efforts and urged industrial officials to collaborate with trade unions to promote energy-saving measures in workshops, factories, and industrial settings while clarifying the reasons behind current challenges.
The president also highlighted the role of religious leaders, national media, and the Basij Organization in fostering a culture of conservation and encouraging public participation in energy-saving campaigns.
He expressed gratitude to the Iranian public for their cooperation in reducing consumption, urging them to continue their efforts.
Pezeshkian also thanked the ministries of oil, energy, industry, and interior, along with governors and national media, for their contributions in managing the current situation.
“As public servants, it is our duty to work for the satisfaction of the people, be accountable for the responsibilities we’ve accepted, and, where shortcomings exist, not hesitate to apologize,” he concluded.
