The manager of provision and distribution at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) Morteza Abedini made the remarks adding regular meetings are held with the National Iranian Gas Company and Ministry of Energy to coordinate the related decisions for this time of the year when the country faces heat waves.
Given the current special situation and rising demand for electricity, the Petroleum Ministry tries to maximize natural gas delivery to power plants to increase the volume of liquid fuel storage in power plants, he said.
Over the first 131 days of this year, NIOPDC’s liquid fuel delivery to power plants has amounted to 5.953 billion liters including 3.223 billion liters of gasoil and 2.7 billion liters of fuel oil, the NIOPDC official said.
According to Abedini liquid fuel oil delivery to the power plants has risen by 30 percent against the corresponding period last year which should be managed correctly concerning unprecedented hot weather and the necessity of boosting liquid fuel storage by power plants.
