He emphasized that the project represents the preservation of national assets and the creation of sustainable employment in one of the country’s most underprivileged regions.
Speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the project on Saturday, Hatami noted that NGL 3100 is responsible for collecting and refining flare gas, playing a key role in completing the oil industry’s value chain.
He added that the project was implemented in Dasht-e Abbas, Dehloran County, an area symbolizing the sacrifice and dedication of the nation’s finest. "Today, we proudly announce that your children in the oil industry have made this project a reality in the same region," he said.
34m man-hours, large-scale oil equipment deployment
Hatami detailed that the project involved:
- Laying approximately 350 kilometers of feed and product pipelines.
- Installing 8,200 metric tons of steel structures.
- Commissioning 7,000 metric tons of equipment and machinery.
- Completing over 1 million cubic meters of earthwork.
- A total of 34 million man-hours of work.
He explained that flare gas from various fields in Ilam province is collected and transported to the refinery. In the first phase, 80 million cubic feet of gas is being processed daily. NGL 3100 is now operational, and by year-end, gas collection is expected to exceed 160 million cubic feet per day.
Output to support petrochemical plants
The project’s main products include C2+ components (ethane and heavier compounds), which will serve as primary feedstock for the Ilam and Dehloran petrochemical plants. Until the Dehloran plant is completed, the products will be sent via pipeline to NGL 3200 and the Bandar Imam Petrochemical Plant to optimize capacity.
A major step for environmental, economic benefits
Hatami described the project as a significant achievement in protecting national resources and the environment. In addition to preventing gas flaring and reducing pollution, it has created 1,500 direct and 3,000 indirect jobs in Ilam province.
He thanked the investors and contractors as well as workers, engineers, and local officials for their support. He also expressed gratitude to the oil minister for consistent backing.
Hatami expressed hope that more oil industry projects will be inaugurated by year-end, with God’s grace.
