Smart fuel system back to normal across Iran: Official

SHANA (Tehran) – The National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) managing director on Sunday said 4,213 gas stations out of 4,305 across the country have been reconnected to the smart fuel system after a disruption halted the fuel supply on Monday morning.

Jafar Salari-Nassab told SHANA a crisis committee was formed immediately after the malfunction occurred and the problem was fixed manually at the first stage by Monday night.

As the second step, more than 800 teams were dispatched to four corners of the country to reconnect the filling stations to the smart fuel system, explained the official, adding almost 90 percent of the stations were reconnected by Tuesday night and now over 96 percent of them are supplying fuel with smart cards at subsidized prices.
