Raeisi praises Oil Ministry for quick fix to disrupted smart fuel system

SHANA (Tehran) – Iran’s President Seyyed Ebrahim Raeisi on Wednesday lauded the Oil Ministry for fixing a disruption to the country’s smart fuel system.

Speaking in a weekly cabinet session, the president also hailed the ministry’s data streaming and fast reaction to foil the enemy’s plot to knock out Iran’s fuel system, adding the Oil Ministry’s thoughtful action and news coverage on media thwarted the enemy’s conspiracy to cause public concern.

The incident proves that the enemy is seeking to damage people, warned the president, urging all officials and organizations to take further preventative measures.

Minister remarks

Oil Minister Javad Owji said, “A crisis headquarters was formed at the National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company (NIOPDC) immediately after some filling stations’ fuel supply halted on Monday morning.”

He added 22,000 of the Oil Ministry employees were mobilized and the plot was foiled hours later in collaboration with gas stations and the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB).

Owji said 88 percent of gas stations were connected to the country’s smart fuel system by Tuesday evening.
