Petchem Firms Supplying $250m to Nima System Weekly

TEHRAN (Shana) -- The Secretary General of the Petrochemical Industry Employers' Association announced an 8.5% growth in production and 8% in exports of petrochemicals year-on-year, saying: "Currently, $250 million of hard currency is being injected into the Nima system by petrochemical companies every week."

Ahmad Mahdavi Abhari said on Monday at the opening ceremony of the third exhibition and conference in support for domestic manufacturing in the petrochemical industry thanked all craftsmen and petrochemical industrialists: “It is easy to chant slogans, but today this industry is at the top of the country's economy with its achievements.”

He continued: "Despite the sanctions on the petrochemical industry, this year we have witnessed 8.5 percent growth in production and 8 percent increase in exports in this industry and now every week $250 million of hard currency is injected into the Nima system by petrochemicals apart from their own currency needs.”

The Secretary General of the Petrochemical Industry Employers' Association, stating that there are self-sufficiency committees in all petrochemical companies, said: "In this specialized exhibition and conference, billions of rials of memorandums will be signed and contract will be signed, which indicates self-sufficiency."
