Sabalan Petchem Plant Nearly Complete

TEHRAN (Shana) – Sabalan Petrochemical Project has so far made 95 percent and the project will become operational soon.

The CEO of Sabalan Petrochemical Plant, Mohammad Zali, said the project would generate 350 direct and 1,200 indirect jobs once it becomes fully operational.

He said the sanctions had hurdled the project’s progress, however, final steps to launch the project are under way and the plant will come online as the first petrochemical project of Energy Sepehr Petrochemical Holding.

Expressing satisfaction with the progress of the project, he added the project would be instrumental in the region’s economy and employment.

He also expressed optimism that the project would come online by March 2021.

Sabalan Petrochemical Plant, as one of the plans for the second leap of the petrochemical industry, has been built on a 7-hectare land in the South Pars Special Economic Zone with the aim of producing a 1.6 million tons of methanol per year.
