According to the Pars Oil and Gas Company (POGC), Payam Motamed said the first Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) shipment from the port would be ready for export by the end of the current Iranian calendar year to March 20, 2020.

He noted loading and installation of the equipment under the US sanctions and in the absence of their foreign manufacturers by domestic experts and with strict compliance with safety standards and procedures, adding the loading arms include butane, propane and a common arm each with a loading capacity of 2,500 tons per hour.

Motamed further said that the port’s installation had so far gained 75 percent completion and would be ready for exporting the first LPG cargo by March.

National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC) has decided to establish an export and service terminal in Tombak in Pars II, where eight refinery phases and one liquefied natural gas (LNG) project are located.

By March 2020, construction of two breakwaters for the port would be complete. The breakwaters are 5 kilometers long.

Two jetties for liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) exports were being built in the terminal. Each jetty could berth vessels with up to 50,000 tons of capacity.

The idea is aimed at exporting liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) and sulfur produced by South Pars.

Tombak, in addition to exporting products, will help provide services to vessels navigating at the port.

It would be able to export petrochemical products from plants in Kangan and the refined products of the Siraf refineries. With a depth of 37 meters, Tombak Port is the deepest port in Iran and the Persian Gulf region.

Iran is currently recovering 570 mcm/d of gas from South Pars. Development of South Pars is under way. Iran LNG and SP 11, SP12, SP13, SP14, SP19, SP22, SP23 and SP24 are located in Pars II zone (Kangan) covering 16,000 ha of land.
