Fat’hollah Hosseini said reducing unnecessary fuel and energy consumption ultimately benefits lower-income households by preserving national resources for more productive uses. He noted that every liter of gasoline wasted represents funds that could otherwise be directed toward importing critical medicines or supporting assistance programs for low-income families.
“In the current situation, the country’s foreign exchange resources should not be spent on supplying fuel for nonessential consumption,” Hosseini said.
He stressed the need to establish a balanced approach between available energy resources and consumption levels, adding that energy allocation should prioritize productive, wealth-generating industries, including the petrochemical sector.
Hosseini described the petrochemical industry as a cornerstone of Iran’s export revenue and job creation, saying fuel supplies for such industries must be secured through improved consumption management in nonproductive sectors to prevent disruptions to economic activity and wealth generation.
He also praised oil industry workers for maintaining the stability of the country’s fuel network despite attacks on infrastructure. Hosseini said that while adversaries sought to disrupt fuel supplies and halt industrial activity, employees across the oil sector continued operations under wartime conditions and prevented interruptions to fuel distribution.
According to Hosseini, oil industry personnel have continued reconstruction efforts at an exceptional pace despite ongoing challenges, helping ensure the uninterrupted flow of fuel and supporting the country’s economic resilience.
