Oil revenue, spending transparency discussed in seventh development plan steering council

SHANA (Tehran) – The executive plan for enhancing transparency in the revenues and expenditures of the National Iranian Oil Company (NIOC), as outlined in Clause 18 of Article 119 of the Seventh Development Plan Law, was reviewed Monday during a meeting of the plan’s steering council.

According to the Office of the First Vice President, Mohammadreza Aref emphasized the importance of financial transparency in this year’s budget during the session, which was held on Monday with the participation of the heads of the Plan and Budget Organization and the Administrative and Employment Affairs Organization, as well as the ministers of oil, justice, and economic affairs and finance.

The government spokesperson, cabinet secretary, vice president for science, technology and knowledge-based economy, and head of the Government Information Council were also in attendance.

The session also addressed the government’s debts to the Social Security Organization, municipalities, and the Khatam al-Anbia Construction Headquarters, in accordance with Clause 17 of Article 119 of the Seventh Development Plan.

Council members discussed potential solutions for settling government debts and obligations and made decisions on how to proceed.
