Acting oil minister tours Pars Energy Zone to assess war-damage repairs

SHANA (Tehran) – Caretaker oil minister is visiting the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone to review reconstruction of facilities damaged during the Third Imposed War, aiming to speed the return of lost capacity to production and ensure a stable national gas supply ahead of winter.

Hamid Bovard, who was recently named acting oil minister, is making his first operational trip Tuesday to assess repair progress on site, identify obstacles and push for faster completion of repairs. The effort carries added urgency as colder weather approaches and gas facilities must be ready to meet demand across the country.

During the Third Imposed War, several of the country's gas refineries in the South Pars region were attacked and damaged, causing the loss of part of Iran's gas processing and production capacity.

Since the attacks, the Oil Ministry has mobilized its technical and executive resources to rebuild the damaged facilities and restore the lost capacity, with the goal of ensuring stable gas supplies, particularly during the cold months.

The caretaker minister's itinerary in Bushehr province includes visits to South Pars gas refineries and petrochemical complexes in the Pars Special Economic Energy Zone, as well as an assessment of overall progress in rebuilding the war-damaged refineries and petrochemical plants.

The caretaker minister left Tehran for Asaluyeh on Tuesday morning with several senior oil industry officials and Musa Ahmadi, chair of the Parliament's Energy Committee. On arrival at Persian Gulf International Airport in Asaluyeh, he was greeted by Arsalan Zare, governor general of Bushehr, and a number of local officials.
