SHANA (Tehran) – The deputy chairman of the Iranian Parliament’s Energy Committee stated that the oil minister and hardworking personnel of the oil industry are not afraid of US sanctions and emphasized that such measures will undoubtedly increase their motivation to continue their work.

Ramezali Sangdovini addressed the US sanctions imposed on Iran’s oil minister, noting that the US. has targeted Iran’s economy and numerous officials with sanctions for decades. However, he asserted that Iran has never feared such measures.

“Mr. Paknejad, the oil minister, is a product of this nation and has no fear of U.S. sanctions or pressure. Undoubtedly, these sanctions will boost the motivation of the minister and oil industry workers to persevere,” he added.

The Oil Ministry has already demonstrated this winter that, despite sanctions and other economic challenges, it will not allow the people to go without energy,” he said.

The US Department of Treasury, as part of its maximum pressure campaign, added Iran’s oil minister to its sanctions list on Thursday. The Iranian oil minister was sanctioned due to extensive efforts to sell oil, according to the latest US Treasury sanctions list.
