South Pars uses 90% local goods in overhauls

SHANA (Tehran) – The South Pars Gas Complex announced that more than 90% of the materials used in its major overhauls are domestically produced, a move officials say ensures sustainable production and strengthens Iran’s tech-based economy.

Saeid Heidari, the complex’s commercial director, said sustainable production is possible only by relying on domestic capacity. He added that cooperation with more than 130 local and knowledge-based companies has improved quality, boosted efficiency and reduced reliance on imports.

Heidari emphasized that constructive collaboration with local companies has not only enhanced product quality but also created jobs and strengthened the country’s tech-based economy. Supporting Iranian-made goods, he said, is key to generating added value and fostering sustainable economic growth, which remains a priority for the complex.

He also noted that maximizing the use of domestic production, in line with the country’s “resistance economy” policies, has led to higher production quality, better processes and environmental protection — important achievements for Iran’s gas industry.
