Key role of oil terminals in oil exports

SHANA (Tehran) – The CEO of Iran Oil Terminals Company emphasized the crucial role of the company in receiving, storing, and exporting oil and gas condensates.

Abbas Asadrouz, speaking on Wednesday on the sidelines of a development and planning council meeting in Asaluyeh, outlined the performance of Iran Oil Terminals Company.

He stated that through foresight, precise planning, the round-the-clock dedication of National Iranian Oil Company experts, and adherence to the policies set by the Ministry of Oil, the company aims to enhance energy diplomacy and maximize the interests of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

Highlighting the importance of oil terminals in the country’s energy export chain, Asadrouz added, “By leveraging advanced infrastructure, skilled human resources, and local expertise, we are capable of providing sustainable and secure services in the reception and export of oil and gas condensates.”

Referring to the company’s successful performance this winter, the CEO noted that despite harsh weather conditions, the efforts of Iran Oil Terminals Company staff led to a new record in oil exports during the month of Dey (December-January), demonstrating the company’s operational capacity and high level of commitment.

Modernization of critical infrastructure

Asadrouz highlighted the role of the South Pars Gas Condensate Terminal in energy supply and export support, stating, “As one of the strategic centers of the country’s oil industry, this terminal operates 24/7 in compliance with international standards and plays a significant role in achieving the broader goals of the oil industry.”

He stressed the importance of stabilizing gas condensates to supply refineries and support the country’s energy supply chain, adding, “Regular exports of gas condensates not only meet the needs of downstream industries but also contribute to the country’s economic stability and development.”

Referring to the specific directives of the CEO of the National Iranian Oil Company regarding development plans, Asadrouz said, “Modernizing and upgrading critical infrastructure, including docks and oil storage tanks, is among our top priorities. This will enable us to increase the operational capacity of the terminals and improve the safety and efficiency of these facilities.”

Need for development and modernization of export infrastructure

Asadrouz emphasized the necessity of developing and modernizing export infrastructure, stating, “Advancing development projects, modernizing critical and strategic infrastructure, and continuously improving terminal performance are among our key strategies to achieve the goals of the country’s oil industry.”

He pointed to measures taken to enhance infrastructure and improve facility safety, adding, “By securing the eastern and western docks of Kharg Island, upgrading dock berths at the Kharg Oil Terminal, conducting preventive maintenance on oil transmission lines in the depths of the Persian Gulf, optimizing technical and human resources, performing emergency repairs on loading arms at the Kharg Oil Terminal, and rebuilding export infrastructure, we will be able to increase operational capacity and enhance facility safety.”

The CEO of Iran Oil Terminals Company stressed the importance of optimizing resources and accelerating project implementation, saying, “Through precise planning and optimal use of resources, we have been able to advance development projects more rapidly and achieve our set objectives.”
