President inaugurates polymer production units at Padjam Polymer Development Company

SHANA (Tehran) – Production lines 3,000 and 4,000 of the ABS unit at Padjam Polymer Development Company were inaugurated via video conference under the directive of President Masoud Pezeshkian.

The ceremony took place on Wednesday, in Asaluyeh, with the attendance of Ahmad Meydari, Minister of Cooperation, Labor, and Social Welfare, Hassan Abbaszadeh, Deputy Minister of Oil for Petrochemical Affairs, and provincial officials.

The newly operational production lines, with a combined capacity of 120,000 tons, mark a significant milestone for the country’s downstream industries.

Meydari highlighted the importance of the project, stating that one of the lines began operations five days ago, while the other has been producing for a month.

The minister emphasized that the project will reduce the country’s annual imports by approximately $90 million.

He noted that the unit’s production capacity of 250,000 tons is three times the current national output of 75,000 tons.

Additionally, 40% of the ABS products from the Padjam Polymer Development Company are exported, contributing to an annual export value exceeding $400 million. The total investment in the industrial unit amounts to $480 million.

The project is expected to bolster domestic production and reduce reliance on imports, further strengthening the country’s industrial sector.
