Once completed, these projects will add 37 million tons to Iran’s petrochemical production capacity.
Hassan Abbaszadeh, speaking at a meeting of the Asaluyeh County Development and Planning Council on Wednesday, noted that 48% of Iran’s petrochemical capacity has been developed in the Asaluyeh region.
He emphasized that more than 85% of petrochemical companies are subsidiaries of pension funds, ensuring that the benefits reach the general public.
Abbaszadeh highlighted that approximately $40 billion has been invested in petrochemical projects in Asaluyeh.
He stressed the need to develop downstream industries to create jobs and support the growth of complementary industries alongside upstream activities in the region.
As the deputy oil minister, Abbaszadeh reiterated that the 28 ongoing projects in Asaluyeh and Kangan represent a $30 billion investment.
He confirmed that these initiatives will boost Iran’s petrochemical capacity by 37 million tons.
Abbaszadeh also pointed to the social responsibilities of petrochemical companies in Asaluyeh, stating that environmental concerns are a top priority for these firms.
